Digital Ethics

In our increasingly internet-based world, I am creating a statement of digital ethics to establish the guidelines I will follow on this blog.

Use of Outside Content:

As the author of this content, all content on the blog is original and written/produced by me. Any other content (including quotes, photos, video clips, and other images) will be appropriately credited to the proper individuals. If found online, such as on Google Images, it will be credited to the original source of the photograph and also noted that it was found through this method.

I will not encourage  “illegal” practices (including movie/tv piracy or “free downloads”) on this blog.

Rights of Readers

I will express my views as clearly as possible.

I will not post any derogatory, inflammatory, racist, or otherwise objectionable content on this blog.

In return, I ask that my readers adhere to the same standard when commenting, (as discussed below), with the understanding that if they do not, I have the right to report an inappropriate content and not post it to the blog.

Commenting

Comments are allowed on this blog, but I reserve the right to approve or not approve them depending on content, relevance to post, and legitimacy (i.e., not a spam message). I also ask that users only post ONCE per post, not attempting to post multiple times.

WordPress

Due to the ease of use as well as my pre-existing account, I am using WordPress as the host for my blog. As it is a free blog, this is done with the understanding that in exchange there might be ads placed by WordPress on the site. Please note that these are not my own attempts at monetization through ads, but WordPress’ action.

Sharing

I will not allow users to share and/or publish my work without appropriation to me, Christie Sausa, as the author and creator of the shared content. However, I realize that WordPress allows for readers to “re-blog” content, which I do allow, because this process identifies the origin of the previous post. I also realize that sharing a link from the blog is acceptable on social media, as it is linked directly to the site where it is clear that it is my work.

However, any other publication request must be requested via email and publication is only allowed with my permission.

 Privacy Considerations

Please note that to comment or otherwise interact with the blog (including to “like” or “press” a certain post) you will need to create an account with WordPress. WordPress’ privacy policy can be found here. By creating a username and password to create an account, you realize that you are agreeing to the terms of use and the privacy policy set forth.
